Eating through the Summer of '19 in Cincinnati
So here’s the thing. I have this dream- to travel the world. A road trip across the US in a van would completely suit my fancy. There is simply so much to see and to be experienced and so little time (especially with so much of it either melting or going under water). But rather than wasting time and wishing to be in a situation other than where I am now, I’ve decided to enjoy the journey. Instead of anxiously anticipating graduation and the opportunity to travel following, I’ve been trying to actively seek the moments, places and opportunities within this city that I can find adventure in. I also would so much prefer checking out a local eatery rather than a tried and true chain restaurant. Sometimes the most precious gems are found within the places off the beaten path.
So my family recently bought a house in a rural part of Cinci (Hamilton, OH). Needless to say that I wasn’t the most stoked to learn that I would no longer be able to return to my Californian roots, but hey, we roll with the punches around here. It’s about the journey, not the destination.
So, let me just say, Yelp is my absolute BEST FRIEND! No joke! Not to mention, the handy little site now has options for you to look for places of interest or hikes, etc.
Wyoming Community Coffee…is the cutest and best decorated little coffee shop in a quite part of town. Seriously, something out of an ikea magazine. There is also a cute little brunch place next door to try if you’re looking for a more substantial meal.

True West Coffeeis a super unique and eclectic place in Hamilton, just a short drive from the college town of Oxford, Ohio (Miami University). The Pot of Gold latte is what they’re known for. They also have Open mic nights on Friday nights. While the parking lot is rather small right next door, you can also find more parking cattycorner to that. Also, if you bring in your own cup or mug, they will be so accommodating and use it instead of one of their own plastic cups. You can grab some of the ones I use here!
The Littlefield…is a great place to check out if you’re heading downtown. Their menu is a bit small, but there is something for everyone. They also have various local brews based on whatever is in season. While there is a parking lot you have to pay for right next door, you can more than likely find parking on the street (just pay attention to the street signs).
Sammy’s Craft Burgers and Beers…is located in deep Blue Ash. Not only is their staff super friendly, but they are also so accommodating and willing to make your burger however you please.
Fautso…found nestled within the CAC (museum) downtown. It seems to be on the higher end, but the prices are reasonable and the food is bomb. They recently opened and are so kind. A great brunch stop or afternoon pit stop. Plus, you’re just a few steps away from an amazing (and cool) art walk through to spend your afternoon.

Okay, so I'll more than likely continue adding to this list, because, never stop exploring (am I right?) and I simply can't leave you hanging. Let me know if there are some other places you might have tried and absolutely loved, I would be more than willing to check it out for myself or if there are any more aspects you would like to see in similar future posts!
